Things I wouldn't Recommend

The past few weeks have been quite interesting, and less than "peaceful." Mid-terms were somewhat uneventful. I didn't do as well that I thought I'd do, but I can't really complain. As long as I'm doing better than usual.

Here's a list of things I wouldn't recommend.

I wouldn't recommend:

10) Leaving your homework until the weekend and playing guitar hero or watching movies instead.

9) Working 30+ hours/wk and taking 15 credits at the same time with four three credit classes.

8) While going to school full time and working 30+hrs/wk, working a late shift (like, I don't know, 4-10 pm).

7) Once done with that late shift, meeting with a brass quintet to rehearse on Wednesday nights until at least 11 pm.

6) Losing heat in your water heater (cold showers on February mornings are not fun).

5) Driving down to Utah on a Friday night, but not leaving until 11 pm. (You won't get there until at least 2 am.)

4) Sitting in a place during a concert where you can not only not see your wife, but are surrounded by idiots who can't keep quiet during a classical concert. (Uncultured Swine!!)

3) After driving until 2 am, staying up until 3 am chatting and then getting up again at 9.

2) Telling your 8 1/2 month pregnant wife that you're tired.

And, number 1 thing I would not recommend doing:..............

1) Staying up until 4 am after working six hours hardly getting any sleep the night before, and working to catch up on Accounting, Economics, and world religions homework.

I'm so tired right now!!!

Recent Activity

Nothing much has really been going on around here. We finally got some new snow, and it's been snowing for the last couple days.

However, Mike and I did get to go play a gig this weekend in Jackson Hole at the Elk's Lodge.
It wasn't a great band, but it was a fun gig. And, we got paid 100 bucks each for playing. We'll probably be doing another one near the end of February.

Also, yesterday, Jennie and I got to go to one of our favorite restaurants, Red Robin. I tried their Blue Ribbon burger, and it was amazing. A marinated beef patty with a steak sauce, chipotle mayonnaise, onion straws, and crumbled bleu cheese. How's that get your taste buds going?

After a few hours in Idaho Falls, we finally got to do what I wanted to do and, lame as it sounds, go get some new fish for my aquarium. I got a flame dwarf gourami, a neon blue dwarf gourami, and some Dalmation mollies. Unfortunately, two of the mollies have already died. I'm not really sure why. There shouldn't have been anything wrong with them.

Accounting Woes

Assets = Liabilities + Stockholders' Equity

The "basic" accountant's equation. What?!

Who, besides CPAs actually understand this crap?

I'm in an Accounting 201 class right now and it's probably going to kill me. While I'm actually in the classroom, I enjoy learning about it. But the homework is probably going to be my final demise.

I don't know how long I can keep this up.

However, my goal for this semester is to come away with a 4.0 and having worked 30+ hours every week. I'm enrolled in 15 credits, 1 of which is a raquetball class at 7:45 am. Probably not the smartest choice on my behalf.

I guess one thing that will benefit from this semester is that I'll really push myself to my max and see how far I can stretch. I'm going to have to use my "spare" time on Saturdays get ahead in my classes so I don't get behind during the week.

Here's hoping.
